The South East PCN in collaboration with Health and Beyond will be providing an Urgent Access Hub for PCN patients to support current pressures on Emergency Departments, NHS 111 and GP Practices within the PCN.

The Service will operate as follows:

  • Monday - Friday 10:00 – 18:00
  • GP/ANP/HCA - face to face appointments
  • Maximum of 120 available appointments per day
  • Practice reception personnel can refer patients to Ettingshall Urgent Access Hub (Face-to-Face available after initial triage, appointments will be available on the same day)
  • Patients will not be seen without an appointment, referral from their practice must be made to the triage list.

Inclusion Criteria:

  • All patients over 1 years old
  • Patients requiring a same day/urgent appointment will be accommodated during operational hours.
  • Minor illness inclusions: sore throat; earache, viral illness (coughs/colds); insect bites/stings; urinary tract infections.
  • Minor Injury inclusions: sprains/strains
  • Gynaecology inclusions: Thrush; emergency contraception.
  • Gastroenterology inclusions: diarrhoea and vomiting.
  • Miscellaneous inclusions : rashes, athletes foot, ingrowing toe nails, skin/wound infection

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Under 1’s
  • Covid symptoms or suspected Covid case – separate room/process
  • Dressings/wound care
  • Ongoing problems
  • ECGs
  • Repeat Medications
  • Long-term Conditions
  • Minor illness exclusions: TIA; elderly falls; DVT; BM>30; chest pain known IHD/Abnormal ECG.
  • Gynaecology exclusions: PV bleeding (including <12/40 pregnant); >12/40 PV bleed; MEWS >2.
  • Gastroenterology exclusions: haematemesis, acute abdominal pain.
  • General exclusions: Head injuries; currently intoxicated; patients with medical conditions likely to require inpatient admission; pathology and radiology investigations, Post-op follow-up
