Health and Beyond aims to deliver high quality healthcare and social care services and would like to know your thoughts as to how we can improve and deliver our services better to meet the needs of the population of Wolverhampton and beyond.
What is the Patient Participation Group or PPG?
A Patient Participation Group (PPG) is a group of patients who volunteer to discuss topics of mutual interest, make positive suggestions for our organisation to consider and want to help our organisation work as well as it can for patients, doctors and staff.
The NHS requires every practice to have a PPG.
What is the purpose of me joining the PPG?
Joining the PPG enables our patients to have their say in relation to the healthcare services we provide to our patients; your opinions matter to us and are valuable to us.
We would like you to share your views about our services to help us understand our patient’s perspective which will enable us to improve of healthcare services.
Why should I join?
You have been to the surgery as a patient, parent, carer or friend.
Your experiences matter and you can bring different ideas to the surgery to help us treat patients better or to improve what we do in some way.
You will also gain a better understanding of the NHS, and gather feedback from other patients.
How often does the Patient Participation Group meet?
We meet, but not too often, led by a committee voted for by the patients. If you can’t make meetings then don’t worry – you can still be part of our virtual group.
Will the questions be medical or personal?
Questions are asked in relation to the organisation and the services we provide.
During the PPG meetings patients personal health needs are not discussed.
Who manages the mailing list for the PPG?
The mailing list will be held by the GP surgery and any emails sent so that individual’s emails are not shared with others.
